Program & Teaching Excellence
Excellence often requires additional resources beyond public support. We promote imaginative, visionary, expert instruction and the use of innovative instructional technology. Your gifts directly affect the student experience and ensure our students receive an excellent education.
Contributions to the Seattle Colleges Impact Fund support a number of priority initiatives that strengthen the three colleges and six specialty centers of Seattle Colleges. These priorities vary over time and align with the district’s strategic plan. The Impact Fund is nimble and, as its name suggests, is intended to make a strong impact. Give now to the Impact Fund.
Industry partners tell us that Seattle Colleges’ ability to offer innovative programs that match students with employer needs through career-focused education is more important than ever. Our quest to be a transformational and relevant force for our students and the region we serve is an institutional focus and priority. These eight areas of study align with industry and training needs:
- Arts, Design & Graphics
- Business & Accounting
- Culinary, Hospitality & Wine
- Education & Human Services
- Health & Medical
- Skilled Trades & Technician Training
- Social Sciences, Humanities & Languages
- STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering & Math
Excellence in teaching and learning means that we:
- Engage in the work of teaching and learning with passion, vision, and creativity.
- Adapt to the needs of our rapidly changing world by changing ourselves, our curriculum, and our practices.
- Ensure the effectiveness and quality of our work through ongoing assessment and professional development.
Ongoing capital support ensures our students have access to innovative learning environments at each of our three colleges and six specialty centers.
Thanks to private support, Seattle Colleges recently opened the Health Education Center at Pacific Tower, the first facility of its kind to offer hands-on training opportunities for students while providing affordable health care for low-income patients. Other projects recently completed or currently underway include the Library Building Renewal Project at North; the Math, Science & Technology Building and Plant Science Lab at Central; and new interpretive signage at the Arboretum at South.
