Employee Giving

Faculty, staff, and other Seattle Colleges employees, in addition to your daily commitment to teaching and mentorship, you routinely go the extra mile to ensure our students’ success. Employee giving is an additional, optional way to show your support for students.  Employees may make one-time gifts or set up recurring gifts. When all Seattle Colleges employees contribute, we inspire others to invest in student success.

Why are gifts from employees important?

Employee giving is important because it demonstrates that those closest to our organization invest in the mission themselves. When employees contribute financially, external donors take note of that commitment and are more likely to make gifts. The amount you choose to give is a personal decision, and any amount is helpful and appreciated.

How do I make a gift?

You may give anytime online at our website. Another convenient way to give is through payroll deduction. There are three options with payroll deduction:

  • Ongoing Gift – Your gift amount will be deducted each pay period until you notify us to stop.
  • Pledge – Your total pledge will be divided into equal installments deducted each period until your pledge is fulfilled.
  • One-Time Gift – Your gift amount will be deducted from one paycheck once your information is processed.

Payroll deductions make it easy to break down an annual contribution into smaller payments spaced throughout the year. Setting up an automatic payroll deduction is simple.

  • Complete the Payroll Gift Deduction Form (found in our Forms Library under the heading Payroll Deduction Gift Form for Seattle Colleges Employees).
  • Submit the completed form to the Office of Advancement.
  • The Payroll Department deducts the amount you choose each paycheck.

What can I give to?

You decide! It may be designated to support a specific scholarship, area of study or career pathway, initiative, or program fund at any of the Seattle Colleges. Or you may choose to support the Impact Fund which invests in a variety of strategic priorities across Seattle Colleges. Choose to give your support district-wide or choose your college.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Yes. Seattle Colleges Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.

Is this the same thing as the Combined Fund Drive (CFD)?

No. The two are different.

The CDF is an external statewide effort to make it easy for state employees to support their favorite causes. You can choose from more than 5,000 local, national, and global nonprofits working in all charity categories. Through the CFD you can choose to give to an organization you love.

If you would like to give to the Seattle Colleges to support our student scholarships, programs, and the three colleges, we ask you sign up directly via employee payroll deduction, as there is no fee to sign up. Complete our employee payroll deduction form
