Support the Lexi Harris Scholarship Endowment

Help us commemorate the life and legacy of Alexandra “Lexi” Brenneman Harris (1982-2021).

Lexi was born and raised in Seattle, attending Seattle Public Schools and Seattle Central College’s Running Start program.  At the age of 32, after a career in the fitness industry, she joined the Seattle Police Department to serve the community she loved. Tragically, Lexi’s life was cut short when she was hit and killed while rendering aid at the scene of a multi-car accident on I-5.

Lexi’s diverse friendships and interests gave her an understanding of the community’s rich mosaic of cultures. She brought this appreciation to all she did in her life and, importantly, to her career as a police officer.  Her patrol assignments were primarily in the heart of downtown Seattle where she brought empathy and compassion to her interactions with all she met.  Although she served as a police officer only five years, Lexi was known across the department for her skill, dedication, and concern for her fellow officers and for the community.

Your contribution to this scholarship endowment directly supports women students at Seattle Colleges seeking career transitions, advancements, or new beginnings. With a preference for those aspiring to law enforcement or other helping professions, the scholarship covers tuition and educational expenses. By awarding scholarships from this endowment, we honor Lexi's spirit and ensure that her profound impact on the Seattle community lives on. Your support is the cornerstone of preserving her legacy for generations to come.
